Ok, meaning to write this up for like a week....
I was talking random artsy shit with Chris last Friday, and he asked me how long it took me to really start using my ears. I thought about for a second and said "a year and a half." The conversation developed out of my complaints of boredom with music lately (which I'm totally over, at least for now); I was asking how long it would take me to become a decent visual artist. Despite my temporary contentedness with music I'm still pursuing the sketching thing (having decided that my medium is most definitely Sharpie) and I'm reading enough poetry now that I think I might eventually be able to do that.
